Coach Skylar Sargeant

Coach Sargeant began playing football as soon as he could with the Lacombe Bantam Raiders in Grade 7.

Sargeant played Slot Back, Tight end and Defensive Back for 2 seasons before finally starting at Tail Back in Grade 9. Sargeant went on to make the Zone 4 Alberta Summer Games Bantam football team.

Missing the Grade 10 season due to a broken collar bone, Sargeant returned in Grade 11 to become starting Tailback and eventually Team MVP and League Offensive back of the year.
During the Grade 12 season Skyler led the league in Total Yards from Scrimmage and was a League All-star.
Sargeant also played for Midget (Spring) Football Team Battle River Shock for 2 year in 2009 and 2010.
After High School Skyler went on to play for the Edmonton Huskies Junior Football Team. Going without an Invite to Training Camp, he had made the team. slowly working his way into the lineup at home games playing on the Punt and Kickoff Special Teams. While the Huskies travelled at the start of the year Skyler, not being a part of the travelling roster, would instead travel home to play a few games for the Central Alberta Bucks.
Eventually getting the chance to start a home game for the Huskies, “Sarge” would secure the starting Tailback Position for the rest of the year. By the end of the season Skyler had amassed 93 carries averaging 5.27 yards per carry and finishing 5th in total rushing yards. For his effort Sargeant was honoured as the League Rookie Runningback of the Year.
After playing, Skyler was invited to Coach with the Lacombe Peewee Explosion a few years later. Coach Sarge started as the Assistant Offensive Coordinator and returned the next season as the Offensive coordinator.

In 2021, Coach Sarge started coaching the Running Backs for the Lacombe Rams High School Team. The Rams would go on to win their first City Championship in 30 years advancing to the Provincial Semi-finals.
