Coach Saad Samuel

Saad grew up playing baseball in Consort, AB, moving on to American Legion Baseball in Medicine Hat, US collegiate at Indian Hills Community College and earning a business degree at Viterbo University.

Playing Highlights: JUCO World Series, All-Iowa 3B, American Legion ROTY &
MVP, WMBL (WCBL) All-star 1B & HR league leader, Sunburst League Batting Champion,
5 BA Provincial Championships, 3 Montana State Tournament appearances.

He brings 20+ years experience in business, marketing, baseball development and leadership.  Coaching and instructing at an early age with various organizations in Medicine Hat, Calgary, leading to Edmonton where he was President/ GM/ Technical Director at South Jasper Minor Baseball;

  • Baseball Alberta Association located in Edmonton, from 2011 to 2017
  • Membership increased from approx. 500 to 1200
  • Introduced player development program (10 month) and AAA baseball
  • Developed by-laws, policies/ procedures, board structure, operational handbook, governance
  • Facility: 4 field maintenance agreement with City of Edmonton
  • Marketing: off-season programs, re-branding (new logo), uniforms, Digital Transformation; website, social media, online registrations
  • Accounting: Increased revenue from approx. $150K to $300K, approx. $200K surplus. Budgeting for all programs. Revenue from casino, grants, registrations, sponsorship.  Expenses from field maintenance, facility rentals, coach/ player development etc.

Coaching Highlights: Baseball AB AAA Provincial Championships (2), Western Canadian Championships (1 silver, 2 bronze), Calgary City Championship (2 gold)
