Coach Jamie Mitchell
Jamie has been coaching every chance he has for the past 10 years and would love to pass on the knowledge that he has gained to simplify the hardest game as much as possible. In 2018 he started up JM Elite Baseball, winter skill development program to help aspiring baseball players in Calgary. Jamie also holds a degree in Kinesiology and is a certified personal trainer. Jamie understands how the body works and the propertechnique it takes to reach its maximum potential. In 2017 and 2018 Jamie was the strength coach for Vauxhall Baseball Academy.
Jamie won the Bantam Canadian National Championship in and Alberta Summer Games in 2004. He also represented Alberta at the 2007 Canada Cup. After high School Jamie went down to Lethbridge and played for the Prairie Baseball Academy for two years where he lead the league in batting average. He was also named All Canadian Catcher in both 2009 and 2010. In 2011 he played in the College World Series, and in 2012 he was Named GNAC conference Catcher of the Year and All Around Defensive Player of the year where he threw out over 65% or runners. Coach Jamie signed with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2014 and learned and played under catching guru Paul Hoover.
Coaching Career: Although Jamie’s primary position was catcher he also pitched professionally and worked with a lot of college and professional pitchers. Jamie started playing when he was 5 years old and finished in 2016.
